Abstract

Since India's population is expected to keep growing, it's crucial that the country develop new sources of animal protein. As a result, there has been a rise in poultry farming. The poultry industry yields substantial profits. In this industry, there are two main revenue streams: the eggs may go one direction and the meat may go another. Quail farming appears to be a profitable endeavour within this context. Recent years have witnessed a surge in Japanese quail farming in India, which now outnumbers the country's chicken population. Most aspects of care and feeding are identical to those used for chickens, with some slight differences due to the different dietary needs of the two species. They are susceptible to typical poultry diseases but have a good level of disease resistance. Quail farming appears to be the perfect business option for poultry producers looking to diversify their businesses and boost profits, considering the merits of minimal space requirements, higher productivity and more nutritive eggs and meat as compared to chickens.
