Background: Once the ACL injury is diagnosed, the physiotherapy plays a crucial role. Not every patient undergo surgery. We present a summary review of the current state of knowledge about rehabilitation following Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury.
Methodology: Narrative study was carried out from September 2020 to 2022. All the studies satisfying the inclusion criteria were included after critically appraising them and the information filtered from it were used in preparing narrative review.
Results: Total 200 papers were downloaded. As per the inclusion criteria 50 studies were included in the study.
Discussion: This review discussed on conservative and operative management after ACL injury, grafts, strengthening exercises, neuromuscular training, gait training and common outcome measures.
Conclusion: The people who are non-athletes and have sedentary life style can opt for conservative management of ACL. Patient’s occupation, lifestyle, age, BMI and pre-injury physical fitness would influence the outcome of the rehabilitation.
